This is a convenient way to bring the bakery into the home. Frozen bread dough can be found in most supermarkets in the frozen foods aisle. I like to add chopped walnuts to the syrup, giving these pull aparts a cinnamon roll flavor.

1 pound bread dough - frozen
For Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 cup milk, 1% lowfat
1/2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
For Sugar Cinnamon Topping
1/8 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Thaw bread dough for two hours at room temperature or twelve hours overnight in refrigerator.

For Syrup

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar, milk, butter, and cinnamon over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for one minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 10 minutes.

For Sugar Cinnamon Topping

In a shallow bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

For the Pull Aparts

Cut dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each piece into the sugar cinnamon topping. In a 9-inch round pan coated with cooking spray, place dough in a ring formation. Pour sugar syrup over dough; cover and let rise until doubled in size (40 minutes).

Bake at 350 degrees F until lightly browned (25 minutes). Allow to cool for 5 minutes. Invert onto a plate.
