Simple, but comforting. Using the a gourmet, artisan style bread is a great way to make this sandwich special, but a store purchased loaf like Orowheat will be fine. Feel free to experiment with other cheeses and meats.
4 slices bacon - cooked and drained
4 slices bread
1 cup cheddar cheese - shredded
4 slices tomato
2 tablespoons margarine
Top 1 slice of bread with 1/4 cup cheese. Top with 2 tomato slices. Top with 2 slices bacon and 1/4 cup cheese. Place another bread slice on top.
Spread 1 tablespoon margarine over outsides of each bread slice. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make another sandwich.
Heat skillet over medium high heat. Place sandwiches in hot skillet. Cook until both sides are golden brown and all the cheese has melted (3 minutes per side).
