Anzac biscuits get their name because soldiers in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp during World War I loved to eat them. They taste like crunchy, tropical cookies. Simple but good.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sweetened coconut flakes
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup butter - melted
3 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons light corn syrup - or golden syrup
vegetable cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, shredded coconut, and baking soda. Add butter, water, and syrup. Stir the dough until everything is completely mixed together.

Place spoonfuls of mixture onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 13 minutes, or until done.
