Broiled Peaches With Creme fraiche

This is a perfect light dessert to end a summer meal. The key to its success is picking out peaches that are ripe (for maximum flavor and sweetness) but still retain their firmness. The nutrition information does not account for the creme fraiche which is optional.

8 peach halves - pitted
3 tablespoons sugar
creme fraiche - or sour cream

Preheat broiler.

In a small shallow baking pan lined with foil, arrange the peaches cut side up. Sprinkle peaches with sugar and let stand 10 minutes.

Broil 4 inches away from heat until slightly browned and tender (7 minutes).

Serve warm with creme fraiche.
